Presentation on Chicken Management during Summer Season
India is the 3rd largest egg producing and 4th largest broiler producing country in the world. India’s major contribution is from Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh. All these states are well known for their high temperature and humidity. In the summer there can be high economic loss in poultry production. When the ambient temperature increase say, to 25 degree Celsius or more there is loss of feed intake to 2-3%, this will also affect the egg production.
Therefore, management of chicken during summer is very crucial especially in a commercial sector. This presentation lists some of the management practices that can be done in order to reduce the impact of heat induced stress to birds.
